that man, Jesus

He gave of himself everything so that man could live freely and he loved with no condition. He changed mindsets and rejected no one. His compassion was contagious, as well as his laughter—the most joyous man to have ever lived. Not everyone wanted to be his friend. Even still, he treated each person with respect. He did not disguise what he was feeling nor did he sugar coat the cost. Yes, he even threw tables across the temple. He challenged many and changed lives for eternity. The tenderness of his word made him soft on the ears. They could listen for hours and follow for a lifetime.

My desire is to imitate Christ’s humility. -c

a prayer and a challenge…from Donald Miller

“And so my prayer is that your story will have involved some leaving and some coming home, some summer and some winter, some roses blooming out like children in a play. My hope is your story will be about changing, about getting something beautiful born inside of you about learning to love a woman or a man, about learning to love a child, about moving yourself around water, around mountains, around friends, about learning to love others more than we love ourselves, about learning oneness as a way of understanding God. We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and the resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn’t it?” -Donald Miller (Through Painted Deserts)

life is brighter that way, i think. Venturing out. how could one be unmoved for so long as a lifetime? we musn’t let the days pass by without discovery. if your eyes are open, you will see. Light shines to break the darkness that blinds. Come on, get “something beautiful born inside of you”. -c

I’m off again! I leave in 2 days and I will be gone for 5 weeks. This round-trip to Sydney will be filled with different experiences, encounters, and greeted with a familiar smile. I am happy to get back to a place that I seemed to leave so abruptly. I am hoping the friendships I made are still fresh enough to grow. Getting back to the sunny beaches will be glorious; this time it will be Sydney summer. Hallelujah! I am expectant of great things—greater adventures, greater growth and greater excitement. I’m looking forward to the uncertainties. OH, the possibilities. It will be amazing. Please pray as I go, for favour & discovery & opportunity. I believe God has gone before. He has made the way. This is a privilege and a total blessing. Now, LET’S GO! -c

WONDERful time of the year…

i’d like to share with you, reader friend, an excerpt from Zach Hunter’s blog post ‘Winter Wonder’. (zachhunter.wordpress.com) his writings are beautiful and inspiring. i do believe he hit the nail right on the head with this one…

Christmas time. Every year, for a short period of time, our inner child is given permission to come out of their room. This time of year, the lights are brighter, and the fragrances call up memories deeply imprinted in our hearts. This time of year, our yards are Hallmark cards, and our love is a black-and-white movie. Jesus is born and a Child is King.

now isn’t that just lovely? Thanks, Zach for writing in such a way that can bring tears to one’s eyes. Now, may your days be merry and bright. Merry Christmas! -c
