for the first time in a long time, I’m writing again. yet, this is not my own but a good-hearted friend’s work.

Zach Hunter's Blog

I was hanging out with my friend Daniel and we had just eaten at Rasta Pasta (the tastiest Jamaican-inspired pasta I’ve ever had). Daniel had to cross the street to plug a quarter in the parking meter in front of his car. I was waiting on the other side of the street, when I noticed this guy crossing the street and shouting at me.

“Hey! Hey, man!”

“What’s up!”

“I need a harmonica, man!”

I’ve never had someone approach me asking for a harmonica. I was intrigued.

I shook his hand, “What’s your name, man?”

We went into a nearby toy store and bought a red harmonica (in the key of C) for the man named Donnie that we met on the street. Donnie was super pumped.

“Look at this colour! I didn’t even look at it before we got it! Look- it’s like a brand new coat!”

i’m burdened. i need to find a healthy, spirit-filled, mission-minded, Jesus-loving, Gospel-sharing, body-connecting church here. i know where to find that in places i am not. a sweet friend of mine shared this with me just now, Matthew 11:28-30 28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Thank you Lord, that you care for me and my pursuits. this is still a journey, even when i find myself back on a familiar road. -c

wow. i have missed this place. the blog drought doesn’t mean i have given up writing. there has been some pretty outstanding journal entries, if i can say so about my pen…I was reading in Psalm 45. the first verse of that sacred song says this: “My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer”. What beautiful language David composed. I can only hope + wish to say that of my words. and for my writing to be as lovely.

these past several weeks, the entire month of June really, has been the most difficult of my life. that is a pretty bold statement but i do stand by it being true. Here is the reason why: for the moment, i am homeless. NO, i’m not sleeping under a bridge nor do i need to build myself a cardboard fort…although that sounds fun and reminds me of my and Mallie’s childhood at 22 Elizabeth Place. I do have a roof over my head and warm blankets to cuddle in during these WINTER months of Australia. (strangest thing, winter in ‘summer’ months. it truly feels like Christmas in July.with a nearly frostbitten nose to prove it every morning.)

I was blessed with accommodation before i made landfall in Sydney 3 short very long months ago. Little did I know what i was walking into. How could i have known? No warning signs of leasing issues. Well, they were there but only surfaced as the Month of Miracles—June—arrived. With the lease on the dashed and slightly blurred line and no one willing to draw it back, the final decision was to quit the lease and move out by 2 July.

So that day has came and went. My thoughts for the month of June were something like that of a roller coaster. Full of faith for my gracious God to work a miracle in my favor. expectant of a sour situation to be made good&sweet. friendships to solidify. strengthening from Heaven above to persevere through this bread of adversity. encouragement from my family+friends stateside and Becca in Honduras (she+Michael have made it home safe&sound and praying for the next step). doubt of this dreams and distraction to be gone, in Jesus’ name. trust my Portion and my Provider. [ i sing the song ‘All I Need is You’. yeah, to worship in spirit and in TRUTH, right?] and God, what will you have me learn in this circumstance?

Now, Hillsong Conference has begun. UNITED Night was on Friday, 2 July. What an awesome night in the House with kids as young as 12 to ages 25+. A God-encounter with worship and a Gospel message from John Gray (out of Atl, GA). WOAH, Baby! The United States’ local churches has some phenomenal warrior-leaders for the Kingdom. Tonight, Judah Smith lit the fire in hearts all across the congregation. Momentum was revved up and a significant number of people found salvation in Jesus Christ for the first time. Lives were changed for eternity. This week will truly be history making and altering and advancing for the cause of the local Church and for furthering the Kingdom of an Almighty God. He is alive and breathing down on His people who seek Him. He will be found if we seek Him with all our heart. I move into the week with a refreshed spirit and a new hope. I can only take it day-by-day. I awake every morning to new mercies and manna- grace for that day. If I try to store it up for the next day, it’ll spoil. I’m in a place where I need the Lord’s deliverance grace to fight for me. I will smile. I will carry on. I will unconditional love people, for they are precious. I will dance today for God has blessed me forever. You, my friend, are loved by me. Thank you for your prayers for me. Praise Him who is able to do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—ephesians 4:21

all my love- c
