i was welcomed back to the humidity of a southern summer’s night and smiling faces.  i’m back for the next several months at least. who knows where i’ll end up next…it will be great. looking forward to the new. i’ll take on a few new hobbies, work 2 jobs or 3, spend time with family and start up a young adults social justice connect group. prayers would be appreciated. -c

Jesus is the one who asked me to get in this boat. You bet we are going to the other side. Who knew it would be a journey across the great blue Pacific. it’ll be great to be back. I’m just a little sad to leave already…the next adventure begins in 3 days. -c

it doesn’t mean i’ve failed. so let’s can the label ‘failure’. it does not mean i’ve given up. X out the label ‘quitter’. it doesn’t mean it was a mistake so let’s throw out the label ‘sadly mistaken’. this adventure was full of LIFE. packed with exciting things, challenges, laughs. so what i’m leaving earlier than “planned”…what’s a plan anyway? all i know is i’ve been promised plans to prosper, not to be harmed, hope and a future. (jer. 29:11) revelation and redirection or simply a turn in the road happens all the time. and you know what? you just gotta be ready. that’s why we live by faith and not by sight. that’s why it’s called trust and not entrapment. it can get sticky and it can get wild. the road is narrow but the burden is light. i just say ‘YES’. The rest is up to my Anchor to determine. where to? maybe the dark path that will soon be lit up or perhaps the ancient paths, the good way (jer. 6:16). all i need to know is the voice behind me saying, “this is the way, walk in it” (isa. 30:21). my perseverance in the pursuit of my dream is unwavering. i’ll keep on. i will not look back but i will reminisce. my eyes are fixed. the harvest is ready. here we go! -c

i leave Australia in 10 days and it scares the living daylights out of me.

although scared, i’m not afraid. the peace is unwavering; the excitement, matchless really to any other time i can remember. the sadness is there. it creeps its blue face up every day or so…when something i think is beautiful is found, whether it be a place or person or word pairing( aussies have a special way of speaking) or when a dear new friend makes me laugh. that’s what i’ll miss most about this place, the faces that have become FAMIL(Y)air and the hearts that are sweet. i am thankful that as i go i don’t have to leave in my dust the newfound relationships. the pen pals i’ll have when i get back to Alabama are many. keeping in touch is so very important; i don’t know any lasting, meaningful friendship that stands without it. do you know what i mean? friends, i want to talk to you. i want to hear about your days, full in minor detail and vibrant in color—even the gray. you are special to me.

can’t wait to read to your letter in the mail. now, i’ll continue to have a listen to the wonderfully ambient the sleep design, specifically track no. 7 ‘you are my home’. play count 68. -c

“Look at the birds of the air… See how the lilies of the field grow.”

Rest easy. Do not worry. Ask, seek and knock. Believe. As we wait, things will shift and change in very tangible ways. In whom do I trust? The very One who whispered the stars into their place. – c
